Hila Rabinovich Escapa
Kibbutz Member,
Resource Development Team

Hila was born and raised in Rishon LeZion, in the central region of Israel. She is the third of four siblings.

Hila met Tuval, a member of Kibbutz Be’eri, through mutual friends, and soon after, she followed him to the kibbutz.

Hila holds a B.A. in Human Resources and Management and has spent the past 6.5 years working in various HR roles within the high-tech industry, collaborating with global companies. In addition to her HR career, Hila is also a certified Pilates instructor.

On the morning of October 7th, Hila was still in bed when the attack began. Tuval, her fiancé, was away at his bachelor party outside the kibbutz. Hila spent the first five hours of the attack alone in their house in the younger neighborhood of the kibbutz, with only their five-month-old golden retriever puppy for company. After enduring 11 terrifying hours without water, food, or electricity, she and her neighbor were finally rescued on foot by IDF forces, under live fire, while terrorists were still present in the area.

Following the attack, Hila, Tuval, and other members of Kibbutz Be’eri were evacuated to a hotel at the Dead Sea. While there, Hila took on several roles in the emergency efforts established to address the needs of the displaced kibbutz members. In May 2024, Hila and Tuval decided to return to Be’eri. Although she initially felt the need to recover before coming back, she ultimately knew that she couldn’t live anywhere else.
